Character info

The character

Lycanroc is the Wolf Pokémon, the evolved form of Rockruff, known in the games for its multiple regional forms and its loyalty to trusted Trainers. It is a Rock-type known for its sharp claws and fangs, used to hunt down prey with fierce determination. In the anime and games it is often portrayed as a fast, aggressive battler bonded closely to its Trainer.

This card

This is Lycanroc from the Journey Together set, numbered 085/159, printed as a holofoil Stage 1 card. The artwork, illustrated by Shiburingaru, depicts Lycanroc leaping forward over rocky desert terrain with a cactus and dust cloud in the background. The card shows the 2025 copyright line and the Journey Together set logo marking it as part of that release.

How it plays

This Stage 1 Fighting-type Pokémon has 120 HP and evolves from Rockruff. Its Ability, Spike-Clad, lets the player attach up to 2 Spiky Energy cards from the discard pile to this Pokémon when it is played from hand to evolve another Pokémon during the turn. Its attack, Clamping Fangs, costs three Colorless energy and deals 40 damage plus 40 more for each damage counter already on the opponent's Active Pokémon. It has a weakness to Grass-type attacks (x2), no listed resistance, and a retreat cost of two energy.

A catalogue match is not the authenticity check. It confirms the card is the card it claims to be. Whether it is genuine was checked separately, on the card itself; see Authenticity below.

Authenticity

WinnTCG authenticated this card in hand, on the bench, against genuine Pokémon cards. It was checked four ways: light shone through it to check the core, its weight on a scale, its thickness measured, and its print pattern and surface texture under magnification.

How this card was graded

WinnTCG graded this card in hand, on the bench. The card was in our hands, and we sealed the case ourselves. We photographed it here under controlled light to show which card is in the case and where anything we marked sits on it.

If you are buying this slab: the grade is WinnTCG’s judgement of the card that was in front of us, and WinnTCG sealed this case. The photographs above are of that card. Compare them against what you can see through the case, because a case can be opened by anyone who has held it since.

The working behind this grade

Every grade here is published with its reasoning. The report states what each measurement returned, what the model proposed on each axis, where the grader disagreed with it, and every defect marked on the photographs above.
